Saddle & Sirloin Mounted Patrol

Founded in 1947, the Saddle & Sirloin Mounted Patrol is comprised of two divisions captained by members - a Parade Division and a Performance Division (mounted drill team). The Parade Division riders have ridden for years in local and regional parades, including the American Royal Parade, Martin City St. Patrick's Day Parade and the annual Lawrence Christmas Parade. Riders ride in formation and carry flags.

The Equestrian Drill team, also known as "The Posse," practices all year long to perfect mounted drill team maneuvers that are ridden at the canter/lope. The team is composed of 6-10 riders who carry flags and ride to music. The team has performed at local rodeos and drill team competitions.
